Program Planning and Implementation Timeline
I. APPLICATION REVIEW & APPROVAL
- Host will complete Visiting Professor Program Application
- Host will submit completed application to the MDS International Secretariat
- Include program with time schedule and current Curriculum Vitae of applicant

- MDS International Secretariat will provide professorship application to applicable MDS Regional Section Chair, requesting a letter of recommendation for the implementation of the program.
- Upon the provision of the letter of recommendation, the MDS International Secretariat will send it, along with the professorship application and other supplemental information, to the MDS Education Committee for review and approval.
- Education Committee will collectively review the application and program, and will either provide their approval of the professorship, or provide suggestions for the program to the applicant.
- If suggestions are provided, the International Secretariat will relay the Education Committee's requests to the applicant. The applicant will make changes accordingly and resubmit the revised application and program for a second review by the MDS Education Committee.

- Following approval by the Education Committee, the International Secretariat will provide the approved application to the MDS Officers for endorsement
- Following endorsement by MDS Officers, an award letter will be sent to the applicant from the MDS Education Committee, via the International Secretariat.

II. PROGRAM PLANNING & DEVELOPMENT
- Responsibilities of the Host
- In connection with the Visiting Professors, finalize dates and program, and provide to the International Secretariat
- Submit Visiting Professor Program Information Form
- Confirm venue and audio-visual availability
- Arrange lodging, meals, and transportation for Visiting Professors while in the host country, providing information to the Visiting Professors for their reference
- If necessary, arrange translation of program materials
- Advertise the professorship via electronic media outlets
- If applicable, submit names of funding groups, as well as the dollar amounts of support to MDS. This is to be provided at least one month prior to the professorship.
- Provide copies of signed Letters of Agreement to the International Secretariat that indicate that funding has been provided in the form of an "unrestricted educational grant."

III. POST-PROGRAM RESPONSIBILITIES
- Host
- Distribute participant evaluation forms at the conclusion of the program and submit to the MDS International Secretariat for tabulation
- Document participant names, with postal and e-mail addresses, and submit to the International Secretariat
- Submit reconciled program budget, showing income and expenses, if monetary support was obtained for the facilitation of the professorship. This is to be submitted within 60 days from the last day of the program.
- Compose a short article for the MDS newsletter "Moving Along" regarding the program's highlights
- Distribute participant evaluation forms at the conclusion of the program and submit to the MDS International Secretariat for tabulation

- Submit a post-workshop report to the Education Committee, via the International Secretariat.
- Provide an overview of the program, including its strengths and areas for improvement
- Provide suggestions for future hosts and visiting professors
