The importance of (and for) health professionals at MDS


The MDS Health Professionals Special Interest Group (HP-SIG) brings together allied health professionals working with movement disorders in a range of settings from around the world.  As key members of an interdisciplinary approach to treating a broad range of movement disorders, allied healthcare providers are part of the standard of care, serving as nurses. advanced practice providers, and rehab clinicians as well as in more specialized roles such as genetics, dietetics, neuropsychology, and addressing sexual dysfunction. 

The International Parkinson and Movement Disorders Society, as the preeminent body for healthcare providers and researchers for movement disorders worldwide, provides a key framework for education, research, and interprofessional relationships among the broad range of allied health professionals in the HP-SIG.
