Membership Dues follow the calendar year, beginning on January 1 and ending on December 31. The MDS dues renewal cycle begins on October 1; membership payments received after October 1 are applied to the following year’s membership term.

After logging into My MDS, the members-only section of the site, click "My Profile." Then click "My History" on the left. From there, you can view your membership payments history, along with your history of other committee and event participation.

You can easily update your member contact information at any time after logging into the member area of the website, My MDS. Once logged in, select “My Profile” where you will update your contact information. Please be sure to mark your preferred mailing address, which is where copies of the Journal (if applicable) and other important MDS postal mail will be sent.

We are sorry to hear you are missing print copies of the Movement Disorders Journal. Please contact us by email at membership@movementdisorders.org or by phone at +1 (414) 276-2145. Please confirm your preferred mailing address in the body of the email message so we can better ensure the Journal will be sent to the right place. Please also list the specific issue(s) you are missing. We will reply to you at our first opportunity.

To change your user credentials, click the link that reads ‘Change Username and Password’ after logging into the Members Only Section of the MDS website. You will then be prompted to enter your old user credentials and to provide your new login information.

If you do not remember your username or password:

Select ‘Forgot Password?’ on the homepage of the MDS website. You will then be prompted to enter your email address; following entry, a link will be sent to that email address which will allow you to reset your user credentials.

If your account is locked:

Please email us at membership@movementdisorders.org or call us by phone at +1 (414) 276-2145 so that we may unlock your account as soon as possible.  

We are happy to send you a copy of your MDS membership receipt. Feel free to contact us by email at membership@movementdisorders.org or by phone at +1 (414) 276-2145. To speed up the process, please include your member ID number so we may locate your payment transaction in our membership records.

In order to qualify for (free) Associate Membership, you would need to have not held an MDS Membership anytime in the last 3 years and have recently attended an eligible MDS activity. If you qualify, you should expect to receive an email from the International Secretariat, one month following the activity, with instructions for joining MDS at no cost.

The International Parkinson and Movement Disorder Society (MDS) is a professional society composed of Clinicians, Scientists, and other Health Professionals who are interested in Parkinson’s disease and other related Movement Disorders.

You should consider joining if you enjoy staying up-to-date with the latest information in the field via email, newsletters, peer-reviewed journals, or attending courses online or in person. Membership with MDS is a great way to further integrate into the field and expand your global interdisciplinary network.

The MDS Membership directory acts as a quick tool to connect with a colleague; otherwise, you may consider attending one of our upcoming courses or the annual International Congress. Members receive discounted rates to live courses, but may also continue their education online (free) within our new E-Learning Portal.

Membership with MDS also affords individuals to have a real impact on the development of their profession. Members have opportunities to expand networks by connecting with colleagues, exchanging ideas and sharing expertise on patient care and research in the field.

Members meet throughout the year to discuss relevant trends affecting the field, submit speaking topics and educational course proposals, and nominate peers for specialized projects.

Members looking for ways to get further involved may wish to consider joining an MDS Special Interest Group (SIG). SIG Members have opportunities to expand networks by connecting with colleagues sharing similar interests, exchanging ideas and sharing expertise on patient care and research in the field.

We strongly encourage you to stay up-to-date by ‘opting in’ to Society communications, announcements, and newsletters.  You may update your subscriber selections on the ‘Communications’ tab of ‘My Profile’ after logging into the Members Only Section on the MDS Website.

The Online MDS Membership Directory is a valuable networking resource available to members only. The directory is searchable by name, city, state, or country. Members may access this after logging into the Members Only Section on the MDS website.
