To support the Society’s efforts and management of MDS-owned clinical outcomes assessments (COAs). All COA activities are managed under the MDS Clinical Outcomes Assessments Program (previously known as the MDS Rating Scales Program) including assessment licensing, translation, marketing, education and training, and new assessment development. The MDS COA Program is accepting interest forms for the following committees:
Clinical Outcomes Assessment Education and Training Committee
Identifies the need for education and training for MDS-owned assessments. Provides recommendations for the development of new educational and training programs.
Clinical Outcomes Assessment Electronic Development Committee
Provides guidance on electronic assessment tools and electronic implementation of rating scales. Establishes standards and guidelines for electronic scale development and electronic assessment tools.
Clinical Outcomes Assessment Scientific Evaluation Committee
Serves as a resource and evaluation committee for clinical assessment tool development proposals. Tasked with setting standards and guidelines for the development and validation/methodology of assessment tools across multiple modalities. Conducts systematic reviews of rating scales used within the Movement Disorders community.

To review and as appropriate, assign AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ to individual educational activities in accordance with the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) Standards for Commercial Support and Accreditation Criteria; develop and monitor educational outcome measures for overall CME program; regularly evaluate the level to which the CME program is achieving the CME mission; monitor and as appropriate respond to changes in the CME industry; and, review and revise the self-study document as part of the reaccreditation process.

The Communications Oversight Committee oversees MDS communication channels and editorial boards (Website Editors, Podcast Editors, Moving Along Editors, Social Media Editors), makes recommendations on social media and communication policies, monitors analytics and establishes a content calendar to provide focus and alignment for MDS communications.
